Prefabs and assets overview
The Teslasuit Unity plugin ships with ready-made prefabs and assets under TS/. This page explains what is included, and which items you can drop straight into your own project versus which are tied to the example content and meant only as references to copy.
Building blocks#
The plugin's reusable content is three kinds of drop-in building block. None depends on a specific character model or on the demo scene wiring: they address the body by generic bone names, so they behave the same in any scene and on any Teslasuit device.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
hand_l and hand_r prefabs | In TS/Examples/Prefabs. Self-contained glove-driven hand rigs. Drop into any scene to get a live tracked hand. See Hand prefabs. |
20 TsHapticSimplifiedChannel assets | In TS/TSAssets/Haptic/SimplifiedHapticChannels. Generic per body part haptic addressing (chest, spine, arms, legs) that resolves to each connected device's native channels. Consumed by the TsSimplifiedCollisionBuilder; see the Bone channels and collision example. |
Sample .ts_asset haptic presets | In TS/TSAssets/Haptic. Portable haptic playables keyed to generic body part names. See Haptic assets. |
The hand prefabs are drop-in specifically because they are driven by live glove tracking, not by a bone map tied to one rig.
Note. Sample .ts_asset files are authored in Teslasuit Studio and imported through the plugin editor pipeline. To learn how to add your own, see Getting started, and for the asset API the TsAssetBase reference.
Reference only#
The package also contains a few artifacts that exist only to make the example scenes run. They are not part of the reusable toolkit, and their value is the worked example rather than the asset itself, so copy the approach rather than shipping them:
EthanAvatarSettings,lh, andrh(inTS/Examples) areTsAvatarSettingsassets whose entire content is a bone by bone map onto the Ethan rig, so they cannot drive a different skeleton. This is a property of the settings, not of the character model. Open them to see how the fields are filled in, then author your own following Suit mocap and theTsAvatarSettingsreference.ProcessedPpgItem(inTS/Examples) is a demo list row for the PPG viewer scene. Rebuild it against your own UI.
